Dearest Mary,
I just got back from church so I thought I’d write a few lines, received another letter from you gee I didn’t expect one so soon no kidding.
Mary, this is the first time I’ve really had a chance to sit down and write a good letter, and I don’t know what to say well I’ll do my best O.K.?
About Santa Ana? Mary, if I did get there, I’d be taking you out every furlough I got and I know we’d have fun, of course that would be entirely up to you, (about going out I mean). Maybe you’re going steady Mary, well, I hope not.
About your hair Mary I’ll bet it looks swell, cause you always did kido, gee kido I sure would like another picture of you, remember the one you sent me? Well Freddie that’s my pal, you met him remember the time the three of us came to your house, about a year ago, well he’s going to take a snap shot of that picture and send it to me, he also asked me about you, and wanted me to say hello to you for him, he thought you were swell Mary. But if you do have a snapshot please send it huh. I’d like to send one of myself but I haven’t had a chance to go into town yet, and about my hair Mary, well you ought to see the hair-doos they give us here, they really cut them short. I probably will get a pass next week, and I’ll get one taken hair or no hair O.K.?
Your new coat? I’ll bet it’s a honey huh. What is it? Powder blue or what, I can just picture you in it, I’ll bet it fits to a “T”.
Well Mary I guess that’s about all for the time being, and I’ll try and write again, (quick).
Love,
Bob
Tell your folks hello for me O.K.? and please take care of your cold huh
