Dearest Mary,
Here it is noon, I have a little time so I thought I had better write, cause I know if you have any you do. Boy is it ever hot, one of the boys in our section just got his furlough papers signe and is he ever happy, can’t blame him a few days out of this hole means ever thing to a guy, gee Mary I sure wish I was out of here! I’m telling you Mary if (he) our Btry commander ever got across, I think, as a matter of fact I know our own men would take a shot at him! He really is a ____, but what can a guy say, Ed is going to write Washington D.C. and find all the details for tran-ferring to the Corps, he told us that all applications were closed, so we’ll find out soon if we can make it or not. We are going out if the field on another problem, the Japs are suppose to be attacking attacking the camp, so we are going out and get them. what a life, every one is disgusted since we lost our 3 officers they were really swll. I guess thats why we all want to transfer.
Well little girl, I have to get my things together, and I’ll write tomorrow night. O.K.?
With Loads of Love
Bob.
Say hello to your folds for me, and I’ll answer your letter tomorrow. Bob.
