I’ll Hear A Song

Aug 7, 1943

6:30 P.M.

Hello Darling,

Here it is Sat. and am I ever down in the dumps, honest honey I don’t know what to do. Sometimes I feel like going over the hill, but don’t worry hon I won’t, cause in the long run it wouldn’t pay.

I got your letter today, the second one you wrote Aug’s first, gee darling any time you want to write me two letters in one day that O.K. by me, in fact I think its wonderful Honey you talk about crying, well you have nothing on me, cause I miss you so darn much, then I’ll here a song, you know something real sad and that really tops it off, honey I haven’t really cried but sometimes I feel like it would do me good.

Honey I couldn’t write Friday, cause they pulled a fast one on us. Fri. we had another Corps test to see how fast we could move into position and fire our guns, anyway, hon, our section made a record in timing. I think it depended on our leaving here, so Tuesday we have to fire for division and our Btry Commander is depending on us, so we’ll give him our best, honest that was really the first time I was thrilled in firing cause it was something new.

Anyway getting to the point – we had figured on getting the afternoon off and they took us out on an over night problem, that’s the way it is every time we depend on something it never fails though. Honey I think I’ll go to a show tonight (Pittsburg) is playing you saw it remember.

Honey I’ll write a real long letter tomorrow, so I’ll sign off now, and darling I love you with all my heart, and hon its coming straight from my heart too.

Be good hon, and I don’t think it will be to long til I see you.

Love and Kisses
Bob.

(I Love You)
